Upcycled necklace: Do-it-yourself fabric flower necklace

It's time for spring cleanring and this year, while I was going through some of my drawers, I found some jewelry that I don't wear much anymore. I decided to try my hand at a project to freshen it up, instead of trashing it. If you want to try out this easy process, here's a step by step guide.

First, gather your supplies. You will need:

Glue gun (these can be found at any craft store) and glue sticks

A couple of yards of your fabric of choice

The necklace you want to freshen up

First, I took pieces of fabric, cut them into long skinny lines. About an inch wide by a foot long.

Next you tie a knot at the end and cut the piece in half down the middle.

Next, you just tie knots in the ribbon over and over until you get to the end. It can be a little messy. It gives it a cute look.

Then you just curl the knotted fabric into a ball. Glue it in place with the glue gun.

Once you have a little fabric flower, glue it to the necklace. Repeat as necessary. I finished the fabric flowers off with black buttons.
